Bloober drops 35-minute deep dive into Cronos: The New Dawn’s opening mission

Bloober Team has released 35 minutes of raw gameplay from Cronos: The New Dawn. The footage shows the game’s full opening mission, following Traveller ND-3576 as she lands in the New Dawn zone and begins the search for someone called the Predecessor.

If you want to avoid story spoilers, skip the video for now; it starts right at the beginning.

Dark sci-fi, time travel, and survival

Set in a world where crumbling ruins meet strange future tech, Cronos: The New Dawn is a mixture of sci-fi and horror. You play as a Traveller, an agent of the Collective, sent to search for time rifts across a ruined future. These rifts take you back to 1980s Poland.

Your goal is to find key figures who died before the apocalypse. With your Harvester, you’ll extract their Essences and bring them into the future as companions.

Enemies are mutated horrors, twisted from what’s left of humanity. Combat looks more action-heavy than anything Bloober has done before.

Built in Unreal Engine 5, with lessons from Silent Hill 2 Remake

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game features dense environments and strong lighting. After working with Konami on Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober seems to be pushing harder into action gameplay.

Let’s hope it launches in better shape. SH2 Remake still struggles with traversal stutters.

Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled for release this Fall. PC system requirements are already available.
