Dear Villagers and Italian developer Sedleo have revealed 1348 Ex Voto, a cinematic action-adventure set in medieval Italy. The game is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC in early 2026.

The story follows Aeta, a young noble voiced by Alby Baldwin, who sets out to find her closest one, Bianca (Jennifer English), after bandits raid their village. Aeta, who was trained to become a knight, takes matters into her own hands, beginning a brutal journey across a land torn apart by plague, violence, and instability.

This is the debut project from Sedleo, a studio founded by Tom Oceano and Fabiola Martelli. To ground their world in authenticity, the team explored rural Italy, studying landscapes and history to create believable environments. Choosing the year 1348 was deliberate – it was one of the darkest periods in Italian history, marked by disease, power struggles, and roaming mercenaries.
Gameplay is a mixture of cinematic storytelling with action-inspired sword combat rooted in Historical European Martial Arts. Players can swap between one-handed and two-handed stances, unlock new combos through skill books, and personalise Aeta’s style with different weapon parts.
From villages and castles to the mountains of the Appennino and ruins of Rome, 1348 Ex Voto is a grim but striking vision of medieval Italy.
