Warner Bros. Interactive have announced officially that Middle Earth: Shadow of War was released today, on Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC and Steam, with enhancements for the Xbox One X launching alongside the console’s release on November 7th. Developed by Monolith Software, who were the creators of hugely successful Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War will expand primarily on the first title’s innovative Nemesis System, which earned accolades among the top review outlets for its originality and function within the game’s setting.
Vice President of Monolith Productions Creative Michael de Plater details how the team has been incessantly at work to deliver Shadow of War as a complete sequel to the first game, by expanding the explorable world, the story and core gameplay mechanics, as well as augment the Nemesis System’s storytelling. Being fans of Middle-earth is definitely a bonus for the team, as they will be extremely focused to deliver the most authentic experience they can.
Warner Brothers President David Haddad, from his end, is proud of how Monolith Productions have shown their progress through AI technology, as the improved Nemesis System should prove, to strengthen a franchise already brimming with potential after the massive success of the first game in the series. He also adds how the game will keep track of everything the player does to make players feel like the game is revolving around them, so that the story will be as compelling as can be.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is available to purchase now, in three different versions. The Standard Edition, costing £54.99 which will contain base game, the Silver Edition, which retails for £69.99 and features access to Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion, Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion and Silver War Chest alongside the main game as well was the Gold Edition, which apart from the content of the Silver Edition, also provides access to more story expansion content, Gold War Chest and for physical editions only an exclusive Steelbook.
