I love games; horrors and puzzle/strategy are my favourite genres but I enjoy playing pretty much anything. I still believe a good story is important and shouldn't play second fiddle to the multiplayer experience unless via a co-op campaign. I also enjoy watching football, supporting the mighty Liverpool, as well as drinking tea and petting my kittens.

With the start of the premier league this weekend (resulting in a disappointing draw away to Watford for me) and a house to renovate, I almost didn’t find the time for this week’s #ScreenshotSaturday favourites. Fortunately, I had to wait for some concrete to set before I could carry on with any work so I managed to free up my availability.

First up this week, we visit the works of Brazillian studio Hexa Game Studio. They’ve put together a 5m gameplay video of their first ever game, Black Iris. It’s only at Alpha stage so needs a little polishing, but we think that it’s looking great so far.

The second inclusion in our #ScreenshotSaturday favourites this week comes from the developer, Uncasual Games, with their title Ancient Cities. You just can’t beat a good city building game to wind down on a day off, can you?

And the final featured game this week is Shahname by Caspian Interactive. In this bit of footage, you’ll see some awesome combat mechanics and a little look at their inventory system.

And that concludes this week’s feature article. Come back next Sunday for more of the same great Indie content, and the following week after that, we may have a little surprise for you.
