You’ve read that headline right Zelda fans; what started off as a simple dream, getting a full 64-piece orchestra to record the amazing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time soundtrack has finally come to fruition thanks to a Kickstarter project. That project managed to raise in excess of $50,000 from over 1,000 backers so that Materia Collective can now fund and release an epic re-imagining of the soundtrack to Nintendo’s timeless adventure RPG by recording it being played live by a full 64-piece orchestra known as Hero of Time.
This is most certainly going to be a thing of pure beauty, and you’ll be able to get our hands on it in digital format, on a limited edition CD and to top it all off, on vinyl. Pre-orders opened yesterday with fboth the digital and limited edition CD versions becoming available on March 27th 2017. Unfortunately, the vinyl edition will not be released for a while yet but can still be pre-ordered via iam8bit and you can expect it to arrive in the coming months. If you’re not really into all that purchasing music though and are more into streaming it, the Hero of Time orchestral marvel will also be available via Spotify.
