I love games; horrors and puzzle/strategy are my favourite genres but I enjoy playing pretty much anything. I still believe a good story is important and shouldn't play second fiddle to the multiplayer experience unless via a co-op campaign. I also enjoy watching football, supporting the mighty Liverpool, as well as drinking tea and petting my kittens.

MAGIX have been building themselves quite the collection of popular software, buying the rights to likes of the old Sony Vegas video editing software, which Chris reviewed some of recently, and now the popular SOUND FORGE brand.

They haven’t just been buying the big names up like Manchester United did with Paul Pogba though, they’ve been investing in them too, ensuring fans both old and new are happy as MAGIX commit to upgrading everything. And today they announced that the whole SOUND FORGE family are receiving upgrades developed by their top teams in Germany and the US.

Software users can expect to see updates starting to roll out as early as this month, with a goal of having everything improved within the next twelve months. The first thing that will be receiving the MAGIX treatment is SOUND FORGE Pro Mac 3 which will include support for:

  • 64-Bit float/192kHz/32 channels high-resolution audio
  • sample-accurate editing
  • enhanced professional-level filters and processing
  • disc-at-once Red Book Standard audio CD authoring

The update will also include new features such as:

  • including loudness metering
  • the iZotope Plug-ins RX Elements and Ozone 7 Elements

With the fine work that has already gone into making SOUND FORGE software the household name it is, and with the great team at MAGIX only looking to make things better, they’ll be hoping that SOUND FORGE Pro Mac 3 will become the perfect tool for audio processing and mastering on macOS.
