You may remember a while back we interviewed Sam Stephenson of 8-Bit Salute. He was a great guy who did a lot of work with Operation Supply Drop (OSD), a charity set up to support both active military and retired military veterans through gaming. So far they’ve managed to raise $9,147,185 and had a positive impact on the lives of 151,140 veterans. The good fight of bringing fun where there is none doesn’t stop there though, and KontrolFreek has decided to join forces with OSD to honour the USA’s Military Appreciation Month.
As part of this joint operation, KontrolFreek won’t just be donating some of their gear to a good cause, they’re also offering somebody the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to E3 where they will meet industry big wigs and witness announcements for some of this year’s biggest video game releases. All you have to do to enter the sweepstake is purchase something from KontrolFreek.com before the end of May, where you will then be given the option to donate to OSD. Everyone who donates is then entered into the draw.
Dana Thomas, Vice President of Marketing & Product Development at KontrolFreek had this to say about yesterday’s announcement:
“KontrolFreek and Operation Supply Drop have celebrated an amazing relationship throughout the past five years, and it’s exciting we’re able to partner up once again to support the military while also sending some lucky fans to E3. At the end of the day, both KontrolFreek and OSD are about building community, whether in a gaming arena or on a military base. And we’re thrilled we’re able to honour both the military and gaming fans in a way that truly spotlights OSD’s amazing work.”
