I love games; horrors and puzzle/strategy are my favourite genres but I enjoy playing pretty much anything. I still believe a good story is important and shouldn’t play second fiddle to the multiplayer experience unless via a co-op campaign. I also enjoy watching football, supporting the mighty Liverpool, as well as drinking tea and petting my kittens.

Welcome to your midweek Gaming News roundup. Let’s see what we’ve got for you today…

Elgato to release new production tools

Streamers and content creators, we’ve some good news for you. Elgato announced just yesterday that they will be introducing two new production tools; Cam Link and Green Screen.

These two tools can be used together or separately and will aim to help content creators and streamers alike, produce higher quality content for their audiences. Cam Link allows its users to move away from your bog standard USB web cam and instead easily connect more professional equipment to their computer. Green Screen, on the other hand, is a collapsible chroma key panel that is easy to set up and provides a wrinkle-free backdrop.

Julian Fest, General Manager of Elgato Gaming had this to say:

“A high-quality camera is a critical upgrade to any creator’s setup, but often comes at the cost of a complicated and cumbersome video workflow. The arrival of Cam Link and Green Screen will kick off a new era of higher-quality visuals on YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms. These products will help content creators stand out by allowing them to experiment with creative production elements like chroma keying, wide angle and closeup shots, depth of field, and more.”

Music from Before the Storm

If the impending release of Life is Strange: Before the Storm wasn’t already enough to be getting excited about, Square Enix has just released details about the game’s soundtrack. Entitled Music from Before the Storm, the songs that will help the story to develop and set the mood will be performed by British indie-folk band Daughter.

Nope, I’d never heard of them either but having checked them out the lead vocalist does give you a certain chill when you hear her voice that I think fits in perfectly with the game’s style. And should you want to get your hand on the soundtrack, which will consist of all the songs from the game plus two extra, you will be able to purchase it from September 1st 2017.

Here’s one of the tracks from Music from Before the Storm, titled Burn It Down:

There’s a new smash & bash game coming to Nintendo Switch

You’d be forgiven for thinking that this was about a new Super Smash Bros game, but it is in fact not. Instead, this announcement comes from Angry Mob Games for their game Brawlout.

That’s right. Following a successful launch on Steam early access, the developers have decided to bring their popular fighting game to the Nintendo Switch. The best part is it will be hitting the portable console before the year’s end.

And here’s the announcement video to show off what you can expect:

And that about sums up our midweek roundup.
