Game News roundup

It’s been real busy again here at FULLSYNC especially with the Destiny 2 Beta release today; I’ve not been off it since I got home from work today, well, except for now as I write this. And for those of you unable to play the Beta, I have to say it’s AMAZING. The musical score perfectly sets the mood for the hell that unfolds in the opening cutscenes, and the gameplay is just as sexy. I’ll be whipping up a Beta preview anyway which will go into much more detail should anyone want to read it before making a decision on buying the game.

Enough of Destiny 2, here’s some more gaming news from the past couple days:

Games of Edan attending AVCON 2017

You may remember quite a while back we chatted to Carmine Fantarella of Games of Edan. Well, they’ve been working hard on their game Icebox since then and they’ll be showing it off at AVCON 2017 in Adelaide this weekend (July 22-23). So, if you find yourself down under you can find the Games of Edan team in the Indie Games Room.

Kingdom Hearts III meets Woody and the gang

You read that headline right! If it wasn’t enough that it was confirmed amongst a bunch of other Disney franchises this week that it’ll be getting a new film, Toy Story is going to be featured in Kingdom Hearts III as well. I don’t think we can really put into words how amazing this is, so just enjoy the new trailer instead:

RuneScape on your phone?

Your eyes do not deceive you. JAGEX, the publisher of the hugely popular MMORPGs RuneScape and Old School RuneScape (which I’ve only just this second realised was a different game) have announced that both titles will be coming to mobile phones and tablets. The new versions of the game will be fully interoperable, meaning much like the PS4 that allows you to play on your console and then on your phone, gamers will no longer have to quit the gaming action when you desperately need to drop the kids off at the pool, as you can take it wherever you go.

Neil McClarty, Senior Product Director of Jagex had this to say:

“As a MMO player, you ideally want to play at any time of the day or night no matter where you are. We know that our players’ time is precious, and that’s why want to give all RuneScape players, both present and past, the opportunity to play RuneScape on the go. The fact that they’ll be able to play on their PC, leave the PC, and pick up their mobile and continue playing where you left your character will be a big deal for our players – there really will be no need for any XP waste.”

Chloe and Rachel – New Life is Strange: Before the Storm video released

It’s not long now until the first episode will be released and I know many of you can’t contain your excitement to see what the prequel to Life is Strange will deliver. To give you a better clue, the devs have made a video that gives insights from key members of the team about how they’ve moulded the key characters, Chloe and Rachel. And lucky for you, we have that video right here:

And that’s all I have time to write because I really need to get to bed as I’m up early for work tomorrow and I still haven’t had a shave yet. If I don’t get a chance to post more news this week, I’ll probably do another roundup for y’all at some point. Peace out!
