This will be our last #ScreenshotSaturday favourites…with this header image. Sorry, I didn’t mean to cause alarm then. But yes, we’re getting a revamp courtesy of our pal Mr MyStRo who is going to design us some lovely new images for this article, our game news roundup and our tech news roundup (which were mentioned in our staff blog post yesterday). Nothing else will change though, you’ll still be able to check out the awesome work being done by some of the industry’s best indie game developers.
So to get things underway, here is our first featured indie game this week, courtesy of the Romanian duo AlienPixel Studios and Square Head Games. The title for their work is called Unbound, a side-scrolling puzzle game in which the main character creates an orb that allows them to see between two worlds. Here’s a small clip of their latest work:
The second of this week’s inclusions, Darkside Detective, comes from the Irish developer Spooky Doorway. A retro styled game with pixel art graphics, Darkside Detective is a paranormal comedy adventure game for PC, Mac and Linux that reminds us of classic games like Monkey Island and Full Throttle. Due for release this week, here’s a couple of screenshots to get your panties wet.

And last but not least, introducing to you, Maulers Rugby. A mobile game in which you have to grab the ball and make it all the way to the other end of the pitch to score a try. As you can see though, the game isn’t as easy as it looks and those tackles can be pretty brutal. Every man for himself.
That’s all I have in me this week, time to go off and finish watching American Gods. Hope you all have an awesome week, and if not, we’ll see you next Sunday to cheer you up.
